Stage 6 - Here's the finished piece. I outlined everything in a blue or green to try to create more visual pop. I brightened up the yellows & orange tones. I even brightened up the yellow greens. Even in the previous stages I tried to make the swirls seem like dimensional objects. I'm pretty pleased with all the variants of yellow & green that I got into them. The orange was mixed with more yellow than red in order to make it brighter. It seems to of worked out. I didn't plan on outlining everything with blue but it became a happy accident & it really helps unify everything together. I tried to bring every major color out a bit. I'm pretty pleased with the final variation. It was a pretty fun painting to do.
There was actually maybe about 2 weeks between Stage 5 & 6 because I got a nasty bout of coughing & sneezing that held me up plus I went camping after I got over most of the bout of sickness.
between the drawings I did of Nikki (babyporridge) as a B-day present & this painting, this summer has been extremely rewarding artistically. I'm glad for it since summer is pretty much the only time I can create.
