These pics are crappy quality. I gotta finish an essay based around these books before 5 pm tomorrow night so that it's ready for me to leave for class that's at 7 pm. Interesting books. The Secret Journal of Alexander Mackenzie is a series of interrelated short stories b Brian Fawcett about northern British Columbia and the relationship of regional culture and resource industry influence. The Englishman's Boy focuses on 2 related narratives. 1 takes place i n the late 19th Century and the other in 1920's Hollywood. Events leading to the Cypress Hills Massacre is the focus. I'd say this is the better book of the two. It also makes some strong judgments regarding Canadian identity in the face of American culture. It deconstructs the Western cowboy mythic image by placing characters that are archetypes of the genre in the old west as it really was, harsh and unforgiving. It's 11;18 pm and I should get back to writing my essay. I got 500 more words to go.
gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooodluck!
