This is a bit related to the last post so I'll just say it. Sometimes when I'm drawing something or someone and I care too much about it, I end up having a harder time drawing it or I'm more critical of the end product(s). I like to take my time. Sometimes things end up looking absolutely different than the person I was drawing. A great example would be when I was drawing a younger cousin of mine and the face ended up looking like Mary Jane Watson as drawn by John Romita Sr.
Safe to say that sometimes some distance in your thinking + emotions between yourself and what you're trying to draw really helps. Ok, that's nuff randomness for today.
i've been drawing/doodling/scribbling (not sure what to call it, and if "drawing is the right term) quite a bit lately &there's a reason behind it.. but it's not something i want to share in such a public space -at least, not yet. i don't think i'm really ready.
ReplyDeleteanyway, a lot of what i've been drawing has really sucked because i'm too emotional by the time i'm even part of the way through.. reasons, reasons.
not sure what the point of this comment was exactly.
i guess... hope your stuff turns out like you expected, better even. -you are really talented.
