I'm watching Forest Gump on TV right now. Got me thinking of the major themes of it. First chunk of story is about overcoming physical disability. Gump is like a "fool" in a Sheakspearean sense but he's also the protagonist. He's an eternal optimist. Jenny's textbook troubled child. It's heartbreaking that she doesn't accept Forest's love but, it's forgiveable because she feels she doesn't deserve his love. Forest's view of Jenny is problematic cuz she' s idealized like Daisy to Gatsby.
