I tried waking up at 7 am today because throughout July I have to be somewhere every single weekday morning from 8am - 11am. I heard the alarm go off. I didn't glance at the time until 7:23 and I didn't actually get out of bed until 8:30 or so. Looks like I'll be needing more practice.
Yesterday I finally found a bookstore (albeit a major chain named Chapters akin to Barnes + Noble or Borders but Canadian) that had "All That Matters" by Wayson Choy. The book is a companion "sequel" to "The Jade Peony". I didn't pick it up because when I got home from Regina my Dad had mentioned that we're getting laminate floors through much of upstairs now too. I should start deconstructing my room for the 2-3 days that this is going to happen during the Canada Day Long Weekend (around when ever July 1st happens) I did read the foreward (which is part of the narrative) and the first chapter while sitting in the store. I shall pick it up at some point in the summer and have it be my leisurely reading for the next several months.
I think that I should be more of a reader of fiction in addition to my Film and TV addictions. I know that I want to read that book that reinvents Vampire lore by Guillermo Del Toro + forget the name of his co-author....I think the title was "The Strain". I just love his films. Apparently it's going to be a trilogy of books. I wonder if he's already planning filmed versions for when ever he's done with his back log of projects.
I should have pics of my crutch for posterity but I have no idea where the cameras of the house are at the moment and I'm not bothered to look. It's my mom's birthday in 2 days (19th) I know there's a surprise party with the family in the works. It's safe for me to type this here because she's entirely unaware of this blog and I don't have a link to it from facebook anymore.
i have not read ANYTHING interesting (and not uni related) except for the paper in a long, long time.
