Are blogs literature?

I was in class today and we were continuing our discussion about the types of things that have been said to be literature and how right now, the definition is so loose that all previous definitions don't really work anymore. He also brought up the fact that people watch so much more film now. The part that I wanted to share though is that he brought up blogs. He said that while there's a lot of bad writing on many of them, some are very evocative and that the interesting ways that people describe their lives is very interesting. I brought up that for myself, blogs have been an excellent source for finding some really well written short stories. Blogs can be used to spread any sort of message that a user may want to spread. With that in mind, I think that there is a certain responsibility to uphold what each of us might feel is the most representative and truthful version of ourselves and what we want to say or show to potential readers.

That being said, I still maintain that I'm just gonna talk about whatever the hell I want. I've just never considered that my ramblings could eventually or not have a lasting impact. I know that some of the thoughts and images presented in blogs that I regularly follow change and enhance how I think, read, and see the world. I think that what I heard today more firmly cemented in my mind that anybody should be keenly aware of what they do, say, or act out.

I'll probably contradict myself later today so feel free to spew wonderful and enlightening love, hate, and criticism my way. I eat my words just like everybody else. This post actually makes 150. Who knew? I'll leave you with these words.

The only thing that anybody can count on is that his or her "Truth" is just that but also entirely false if taken out of context.
