Violent G8 & G20 protests in Toronto

Seeing these violent protests in Toronto makes me feel ashamed of some of my fellow Canadians. You have the right to protest PEACEFULLY not VIOLENTLY. Burning Cop cars and trashing shopping malls and storefronts is entirely uncalled for. There have apparently been 700 arrests to date since the conference ended over the weekend. A lot of the people arrested were also University students. You've gotta be absolutely stupid to think that you could dress up in black clothing, ditch the clothes en masse in wooded areas throughout the city, and still be thick enough to think that you wouldn't get caught. The other thing that really annoys me about the whole situation is that a lot of these anarchist, "political activists" come from Vancouver, the city I've lived most of my life in (and still live in). These "activists" are really just trouble makers that inconvenience the rest of us who know better. It's not even that all these various groups have bad ideas. It's just that the second you decide to dress completely in black and trash, spout violent rhetoric and then commit acts of violence and vandalism, you give up the right to have your opinion taken seriously. You are worse than anything that you oppose because you're not willing to fight your opponent through appropriate rules, venues, and institutions. This violent protest in Canada might look like a freak occurrence to international observers but it actually isn't. These violent protesters that are supposedly against Capitalism and Globalization are part and parcel of, at the least, Urban Canada. This is somewhat true regardless of whether the city is in the West or the East. What's the point in actively opposing Capitalism and Globalization. The supposed damage has already been done. These forces inform every single area humans live or get resources from worldwide. If you're going to oppose the major forces that structure human civilization as it exists today, at least have an efficient system that could be implemented quickly to replace the one that you vehemently oppose. However, they don't have a plan or even any legitimate recommendations. That's what really angers me. These "activists/protesters" raise such a fuss but they have no clue what they would do to fix things. They're basically politicians that either haven't had the opportunity to infringe their opinions through appropriate political institutions or they just don't want to work within recognized political channels. The latter is absolutely unacceptable. If you wanna influence how things are done, politics is pretty much the main vessel.

If you want social or political change, basically: "Put up or Shut Up"

That's all for now folks
