Dalloway, Super Smash, shutter

Mrs. Dalloway- I'm just about to cross into the last 30 pages. The characters are ineresting & have multiple layers to their identities. I like how the history of their relationships have direct impact on the present day. Interesting book definitely. The singular block of text that's the body still bothers me. The characters of Septimus Warren Smith and Rezia are interesting to me. The dynamic between Clarissa Dalloway and her old friend Peter is interesting. I kind of feel bad for Peter since he really seems like the one person that understands Clarissa best.

I admit it. I'm a full blown video game junkie. In particular I'm pretty much a life long Nintendo junkie. You can't be a fan of Nintendo & not have love for Super Smash Bros. All the Nintendo characters in a massive beat'em up. Sounds absurd to newcomers but it's absolutely ADDICTIVE! The latest version has just come up & surprise, surprise, but who's Super Smash Addiction has flared up.......ME!....... I try not to play too much since It's getting to crunch time for school but it's one of those things where you say. I'm gonna play a half hour, in the meantime 6 hours later, hah hah. I have video game time limit problems

I also just saw the American version of the movie "Shutter" I liked it a lot. It wasn't the best horror movie but it has some really good scares & an interesting story. The twist of the story actually makes you sympathize with the apparition. That girl that was the computer hacker wiz in Transformers is the main character. She does a pretty good job. Joshua Jackson has always been a pretty solid actor. He's really good in this movie too. There is one scene in particular that takes place in a darkroom that's probably one of the most original ways to show an attack in a way that relates to the characters in the movie.

What's up with these movies finding the creepiest Asian women in the world. They seriously find the most awkward looking Asian women around then make us fear them. We're labeling them as the image of stalker. They're always really slim & have hair that's just long enough to create a bit of mystery. I think they probably put a lot of powder or other make up to make them look extra pale too. WTF is up with that?

  1. Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse is a far more interesting read, but I suppose you don't get to pick your reads. I'm so glad those days are long behind me.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I've got a few dozen more cards to upload from last week and this week, but that will have to wait.

  2. To the Lighthouse is better. True, I'm not picking but doesn't mean that I can't make an active list of works by an author to read. I like reading literature actually. People always say how great these historic authors are but usually you need some justification for reading the well known works.

I look forward to seeing more cards. Do you know any way that you could add something to your page that keeps track of blogs you find interesting?

  3. Hi,

Thanks for posting on my blog. I was about to recommend 'To the Lighthouse' if you enjoyed Mrs Dalloway, but I see postmuse has beaten me too it. What a great piece of writing it is...
Like the idea of your blog. I work in the media and started a similar ranting blog last year, but only post to it once in a while.
    Keep on ranting!
